RFID Tages (radio frequency identification)

Description
The Patrol Manager system delivers real time & location information of the security officers patrol routine by sending data instantly back to the Toltec Security control room. During the patrol the officer scans “tags” which have been strategically placed in locations that ensure maximum benefit to the site. Once a tag is scanned the date, time, location description and any further information the officer would like to add, is sent back to the Toltec Security control room within seconds. The technology is installed onto a mobile phone which has RFID (radio frequency identification) capabilities. Each tag that is scanned is unique and can store its own set of instructions with a question that requires an answer from the security officer. For example:
•Tag No. 0988372, scanned at 01.55hrs, “Is the reception windows secure?” This requires a Yes / No answer to be inputted into the phone.

The Benefits
There are two clear benefits with the Patrol Manager system. Increased level of safty under duty of care. Control room will always be able to track the whereabouts of the officer back to the last tag that was scanned. This dramatically reduces search time for missing or injured personnel. The second key benefit is the increased remote supervision it offers. The system will alert the control room if a patrol is overdue or if a patrol is incomplete. Tags which are not scanned during a patrol are immediately highlighted to the duty controller who instead of having to wait for the “deister” system to be exchanged, download and then checked, can immediately make a phone call and remind the officer to go back and scan the missed tags.
